The Accademia Gallery is devoted to preserving the symbols of Florence. It houses a large collection of sculptures, paintings and musical instruments, but without a doubt, the most important attraction is one of Michelangelo's masterpieces: the David.
The sculpture was made between 1501 and 1504, in the workshop of the Opera del Duomo, a white marble sculpture with a height of 5.17 meters, which represents David in the moment prior to the fight with the Giant Goliath. Your guide will tell you the stories behind this sculpture in a vivid and interesting way, you will also see the Hall of Prisoners and the “San Matteo”, the unfinished sculptures of Michelangelo.
At the end of the guided tour, you can to stay in the museum for as long as you prefer.
