VISIT PISA: OUR ADVICE
How long to stay in Pisa?
Pisa is a city that can be explored in one or two days, but the length of your stay depends on your interests. One day is enough to visit the main attractions like the Leaning Tower, the Cathedral, and the Baptistery in Piazza dei Miracoli. However, if you want to discover more, such as museums, strolls along the Arno, and savoring the local cuisine, two days are ideal. Staying a bit longer allows you to explore the surroundings and experience the true Tuscan atmosphere.
What to visit with children?
Pisa offers many fun activities for families with children. Visiting the famous Leaning Tower in Piazza dei Miracoli will capture the imagination of the little ones. The Giardino Scotto, with its green spaces and playground, is perfect for a relaxing afternoon. The Natural History Museum of Calci will surprise children with fascinating displays of fossils and dinosaur skeletons. Additionally, a walk along the Lungarno allows you to admire the city's panorama and enjoy some artisanal ice cream.
What are the typical dishes of Pisa?
Pisan cuisine is a triumph of authentic and traditional flavors. Among the typical dishes, the "zuppa alla pisana," a hearty mix of vegetables and Tuscan bread, stands out. Trenette al cacciucco celebrate the maritime tradition with a rich fish-based sauce. Don't miss the grilled cod, often accompanied by stewed chickpeas. The "tordelli," a type of meat-filled ravioli, represent another local delicacy. For dessert, the "torta co' bischeri," with rice and chocolate, makes every meal unforgettable.
