This tour will start in Florence and take you through the green hills of Tuscany and Umbria to the magnificent centre of Assisi, known the world over as the birthplace of St. Francis. Here you will meet a professional guide who will accompany you through the narrow streets of this medieval town and tell you about the life of St. Francis and St. Clare, showing you the places where they were born and grew up. You will visit the Basilica of St. Francis, visited by thousands and thousands of pilgrims every year, where you can admire the fresco cycle "The Life of St. Francis" by Giotto. You will then continue to the Basilica of St. Clare, which contains her relics. At the end of the guided tour you will have free time to stroll around on your own or enjoy a good coffee in the peaceful atmosphere that pervades this jewel in the heart of Umbria.
Leaving Assisi, the tour will continue to Cortona. On the border between the two regions, a stop will be made at Passignano sul Trasimeno, where you can enjoy a magnificent view of Lake Trasimeno. Once in Cortona, a small town created by the Etruscans, you can wander freely around, as there are no guided tours. Let yourself be enveloped by the landscape that surrounds the city, internationally known for being the film set of the movie "Under the Tuscan Sun".
At the end, you will return to Florence full of memories to take home!

Meeting point

The meeting point will be in Florence, in Piazzale Montelungo, at the guided tour kiosk at the bus terminal (near Santa Maria Novella train station). It is recommended to arrive at least 15 minutes before the tour starts.
