Your guide will be waiting for you in Piazza Giuseppe Verdi, in front of the Teatro Massimo. From there you will move on to Piazza Quattro Canti, one of the most beautiful places in Palermo, Piazza Pretoria, with its magnificent fountain, and Piazza Bellini, where you can admire the exterior of the Church of San Cataldo and the Church of Santa Maria dell'Ammiraglio, also known as Martonara, with its Byzantine mosaics.
You will continue your tour exploring the majestic Cathedral, built in the 12th century on the site of the ancient Arab mosque. Inside you will also be able to see the Royal Tombs and climb up to the rooftops, from where you can enjoy a splendid view of the city. You will then arrive at the Royal Palace, or Palazzo dei Normanni, where you will be enchanted by the Palatine Chapel and the marvellous mosaics that decorate its walls.
Near the Royal Palace stands the church of San Giovanni degli Eremiti, characterised by its geometrical appearance and its five red domes, with its striking cloister.
By bus or taxi you will reach Monreale and here you can admire the Cathedral dating back to 1174. There is also beautiful mosaic decoration and a cloister with Romanesque capitals alternating with Arabic decorative elements. The tour will end after visiting this splendid complex.

ATTENTION: entrance fees to San Giovanni degli Eremiti and to the Martorana Church are not included in the price and must be paid in cash at the time of the visit.
The transfer from Palermo to Monreale can be done by bus (3,00 Euro per person, return trip) or by taxi (50,00 Euro per taxi, return trip).

Meeting point

The meeting point with the guide will be in Piazza Giuseppe Verdi, in front of the Teatro Massimo. Please be at the meeting point 15 minutes before the tour departure time.

If you do not take part in the tour, there will be no refund.
Only decorously dressed persons are allowed to enter the sacred places (short shorts, miniskirts, tank tops and hats are forbidden).
