The San Marco Museum in Florence is one of the city’s most fascinating and evocative sites, where art, history, and spirituality intertwine. Housed in a former Dominican convent dating back to the 15th century, it preserves the most important collection of works by Fra Angelico, the Renaissance master who lived and painted within these very walls. Each monastic cell is adorned with unique frescoes, designed to inspire meditation and prayer, and still today they convey a profound sense of silence and contemplation. Among the masterpieces, the celebrated Annunciation stands out, a symbol of harmony and divine beauty that welcomes visitors with its mystical light. Beyond the frescoes, the museum also houses precious panels, manuscripts, and sacred furnishings that testify to convent life and Florentine culture. Walking through the cloisters and halls of the San Marco Museum is an authentic journey into the heart of Renaissance Florence.
